 MIXED VEGETABLE VADAI



                     Mixed vegetable vadai is a tasty deep fried vadai and it is a prefect snack with a cup of tea or coffee during monsoon and winter seasons.This vadai is prepared by using mixed vegetables like cabbage,carrot,onion,green chilly and curry leaves.Bind all the vegetables by adding gram flour.Do not add excess amount of gram flour,it will absorbs more oil and the vadai will not be crispy.
              Do not add water for mixing the vegetables,because water will oozes out while mixing the vegetables.If needed just sprinkle water.Combined all vegetables and make small dumblings out of it,then deep fried in medium hot oil.I learnt this recipe from my aunty,please do try this recipe.Now let's check out hte recipe...


PREPARATION TIME:30 min

COOKING TIME:15 min

SERVING:15 Vadai

INGREDIENTS:

Finely chopped cabbage - 100 gm
Grated carrot - 2 (medium size)
Chopped onion - 1/2
Chopped green chillies - 2
Chopped curry leaves - 3 sprig
Salt as required
Red chilli powder - 1 tblspn
Oil for deep frying

PICTORIAL:


In a mixing bowl add 100 gm chopped cabbage


Add 2 grated carrot


Add 1/2 chopped onion


Add 2 chopped green chillies


Add 3 sprigs chopped curry leaves


Add 4 tblspn gram flour


Add required salt


Add 1 tblspn red chilly powder


Mix well.Do not add water while mixing the vegetables,if needed just sprinkle some water and combined all the vegetables together.



Make small dumblings out of it


Drop it in medium hot oil


Fry both sides


Fry until it is crisp and brown


Drain the excess oil


Place the dumbling on the banana leaf


Flatten the dumbling by pressing it


Drop it in the medium hot oil.Fry both sides until it is crisp and brown


Drain the excess oil


Tasty mixed vegetable vadai is ready.

METHOD:

  • In a mixing bowl,add 100 gm finely chopped cabbage,grated carrot(2 medium size),1/2 chopped onion,2 chopped green leaves,3 sprigs of chopped curry leaves,4 tblspn gram flour and salt as required.
  • Mix well,do not use water while mixing all the vegetables and make a small dumblings out of it.If needed just sprinkle some water.
  • Heat oil in a kadai,drop the dumblings into it.Fry both sides until it is crisp and brown.
  • Drain the excess oil from vadai and take it out.
  • Tasty mixed vegetable vadai is ready.
