MASALA CHUTNEY
Masala chutney is a simple and easy recipe.The main ingredients used in this recipe are thick coconut milk and garam masala powder.It is a good combination with idiyappam,idle,appam and manjal kolukattai.I learnt this recipe from my mom,please do try this recipe and let me know how it tuns out to you.Now let's start the recipe....

INGREDIENTS:
coconut oil - 2 tblspn
mustard - 1/2 tblspn
cinnamon stick - 2
star anise - 4
green chillies - 3
shallots - 10 (cut it into half lengthwise)
thick coconut milk -1 and 1/2 cup
coriander powder -1 and 1/2 tblspn
chilli powder - 2 tblspn
turmeric powder - 1 tspn
salt
PICTORIAL:
Add 1 cup water
METHOD:
- Heat a kadai add 2 tblspn oil,add mustard after it splutters add curry leaves,cinnamon stick,star anise,green chillies and shallots.Saute until it is golden and transfer to the earthen ware pot..
- Add 1 and 1/2 thick coconut milk,1 and 12 tblspn coriander powder,2 tblspn chilli powder,1 tspn turmeric powder,1 tblspn garam masala powder,salt and 1 cup water to the saute mixture.
- Mix well and wait to boil.Cook until the raw smell of the spices are gone.
- Yummy and tasty masala chutney is ready to serve.
