PAZHAM PORI / ETHAKKA APPAM
Pazham pori or Ethakka appam is a fritter food and it is prepared using nenthran pazham (a variety of banana) and maida.Raw ethakka is used to make the ethakka chips.
Ethakka appam is a tea time snack in the evening.The sliced banana are well coated in the maida batter and then deep fried in the hot oil.Do try this recipe and let me know how it will turns out to you.Now let's check out the recipe...
PREPARATION TIME:15 min
COOKING TIME: 15 min
INGREDIENTS:
Nenthran pazham - 2
Maida - 1 cup
Dosa batter - 1 spoon
Sugar - 3 tblspn
Water
Baking soda - 2 pinch
Coconut oil for deep frying
PICTORIAL:
Add sugar as per your taste,I use 3 tblspn sugar
Add required water
Mix well to get a lump free thick batter,cover it and rest for 2 hours
Cut the banana into half and then cut it vertically into thin slices
Add 2 pinch baking soda,while making appam.Don't add it earlier.
Place the slices in the batter and coated well
Drop it in the hot oil
Fry both sides until it is golden brown in colour
Drain the excess oil
METHOD:
- Take 1 cup maida.1 spoon dosa batter,3 tblspn sugar in a wide bowl.
- Add required water and mix well to get a lump free thick batter and rest for 2 hours.
- Cut the banana into half and then cut it vertically into thin slices.
- After 2 hours add 2 pinch baking soad into the maida batter and mix well.
- Place the slices into the batter and coated well,drop it in the hot oil.
- Fry both sides until it is golden brown in colour.
- Delicious pazham pori or ethakka appam is ready.
