ULLI VADAI / ONION VADAI

PREPARATION TIME:15 min
COOKING TIME:3 min
INGREDIENTS:
Onion - 3 (cut it into lengthwise)
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tblspn
Gram flour - 1 and 1/2 tblspn
Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
Asafoetida - 1/4 tspn
Salt as required
Oil for deep frying
PICTORIAL:
Add 1/2 tblspn red chilli powder
Add 1 and 1/2 tblspn gram flour
Add required salt
Add chopped curry leaves
Add 1/4 tspn asafoetida
Mix well
Make small dumpling out of it
Drop it in the hot oil

Fry both sides until crisp and brown
METHOD:
- Heat oil in a kadai for deep frying.
- In a mixing bowl add 3 chopped onions,1/2 tblspn chilli powder,1 and 1/2 tblspn gram flour,1/4 tspn asafoetida,chopped curry leaves and required salt.
- Mix well and make a small dumpling out of it.
- Drop the dumplings in the hot oil,fry both sides until it is crisp and brown.
- Once it fried well,drain the excess oil and remove it.
- Crispy ulli vadai is ready.
