CHAKKA PANIYARAM / STEAMED JACK FRUIT PANIYARAM IN BANANA LEAF
Delicious chakka paniyaram is one of my personal favourite recipe.Chakka means Jack fruit.Since it is a seasonal fruit we cannot get it often.I had already shared how to preserve jack fruit for long time.
Chakka paniyaram is a traditional sweet recipe prepare with ripe jack fruit,jaggery,raw rice,grated coconut and sugar.After preparing the dough,steam the paniyaram in banana leaf.Cooking the paniyaram in banana leaf gives aromatic smell.

PREPARATION TIME:30 min
COOKING TIME:15 min
INGREDIENTS:
Ripe jack fruit - 1/2 kg
Jaggery - 1/2 kg
Raw rice / pacharisi - 2 cups
Grated coconut - 2 cups
Sugar as required
Banana leaf
PICTORIAL:
METHOD:
- Grind the 1/2 kg chopped jack fruit without using water.
- After grinding the jack fruit add 1/2 kg crushed jaggery and grind well without using the water.
- Then add soaked 2 cup raw rice and grind well without using the water and keep aside.
- Cut the banana leaf into small rectangles,spread the dough thinly on the banana leaf.
- Mix 5 tblspn coconut and 2 tblspn sugar and spread it over the dough and fold the banana leaf.
- Arrange the banana leaf in the idli pot and steam it.After 6 min it cook well.
- Delicious chakka paniyaram is ready.
